The Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) was founded in the Netherlands in 1989 and has since grown into a global network dedicated to improving working conditions for labours in the garment and sportswear industries worldwide. The organisation currently operates through four regional coalitions, covering Europe, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia. The Clean Clothes Campaign East Asia Coalition was established in 2016 by labor organisations and civil society groups from Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan to strengthen regional cooperation on issues such as freedom of association, labor rights, and occupational health and safety.
